The Government of Trinidad and Tobago continues to promote and facilitate trade and investment with China.
This, as the Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon met with a delegation from the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government of China, which was led by Vice Governor Mr. Fang Wei on Friday.
Mr. Fang reiterated the strong relations between both countries. To illustrate this, the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government donated TT$300,000 to the upcoming Steelpan Tuner Apprenticeship Programme. The programme will be driven by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and implemented by the MIC-Institute of Technology.
This visit follows Minister Gopee-Scoon leading a delegation to China in November 2023, which included a promotional investment tour of Jiangsu Province.
Minister Gopee-Scoon pointed to several benefits of investing in Trinidad and Tobago, including the tariff-free access to numerous markets.
