Devotees Gather In Siparia For La Divina Pastora Celebration

The celebration of La Divina Pastora, or Siparee Mai, took its normal course on Sunday with reverence for the representation of the Virgin Mary and hope for miracles.

Prelate of the Catholic Church, Archbishop Emeritus Robert Rivas, in his sermon, remembers the favourite title of Mother Mary, “Our Lady of Hope.”

He said she frees us from the concerns in life.

“When we find ourselves not to doubt, tied up in situations where we can’t find a way out. Mary is the undoer of knots. She can help us, and we must be prepared to do whatever the Son tells us to do.”

He urged the faithful not to lose hope but to persevere in their devotionals.

“Hoping for a miracle or miracles in dealing with challenges you and your family may be facing right now. Don’t lose hope.”

The annual parade went prayerfully through the streets, with many showing reverence and devotion.
