National Carnival Commission Chairman Winston ‘Gypsy’ Peters and Deputy Chairman Davlin Thomas have resigned.
Speaking with TTT News on Wednesday, Mr. Peters confirmed handing in his resignation on Wednesday.
Reflecting on his tenure as Chairman, Mr. Peters proudly said, “I did the best I can. All I can do in my life is my best.”
He expressed a sense of pride in being given the opportunity to serve Trinidad and Tobago, noting that it was a labour of love. He said if called to serve, he would do it again. He shared that once there is a Carnival, he will be there.
Mr. Thomas, who handed in his resignation last Friday, shared similar sentiments, noting his willingness to serve if called upon by the new government.
This National Carnival Commission Board of Commissioners has served since 2023, and its two-year term was expected to end later this year.
