Energy Ministers Meet With Executives Of EOG Resources

Dr. The Honourable Roodal Moonilal, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries; The Honourable Ernesto Kesar, Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries; and Mrs. Penelope Bradshaw-Niles, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, met with executives from EOG Resources Limited on Monday 7th July, 2025 at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries’ Head Office at the International Waterfront Complex, Port-of-Spain.

The EOG Resources delegation included Mr. George Vieira, Managing Director; Ms. Lisa Gosine-Alleyne, Managing Counsel; and Mr. Denesh Ramnarace, External Affairs Manager.

At the meeting, EOG Resources highlighted their company’s history and milestones since operating in Trinidad and Tobago for over 30 years. Mr. Vieira spoke on the company’s current operations and reaffirmed its commitment to continued investment and safe, efficient offshore development. The company shared details on upcoming exploration plans and its ongoing contributions to the economic growth of Trinidad and Tobago for eight areas including Blocks NCMA 4(a) and Lower Reverse L which are two Production Sharing Contracts (PSC’s) awarded in January 2025.

Minister Moonilal reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with key energy production stakeholders such as EOG Resources. EOG Resources was commended for its consistent performance and contribution to the local gas value chain. The Minister encouraged the company to continue identifying opportunities to optimize production while maintaining its high standards of safety and operational excellence.

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and EOG Resources reaffirmed their mutual interest in working closely to ensure continued progress in the energy sector. Both parties expressed a shared commitment to ongoing collaboration to unlock further value from Trinidad and Tobago’s hydrocarbon resources.
