Six Suspects Held, Firearms, Ammunition And Cannabis Seized In Ongoing SOE Operations

Six suspects were arrested and four firearms seized during State of Emergency Operations conducted in the Southern and North Eastern Divisions yesterday.

In the first exercise, officers of the Moruga Police Station proceeded to Edward Trace Village, between 7:45am and 10am on Monday 28th July, 2025.

During the exercise, the officers arrested a 27-year-old man for Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

The operation was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Simon, Supt. Rajkumar, ASP Ramsaran Insp. Ragbir and Sgt. Singh, all of Southern Division.

In the Golconda district, an intelligence-led operation was conducted between 1pm and 5pm yesterday, during which officers arrested three suspects, ages 21 to 32, for possession of one Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition and quantities of cannabis and cash.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the Southern Division Criminal Investigations Department and the Southern Division Gang Unit.

Meanwhile, in the Gasparillo district, officers conducted an exercise overnight which resulted in the arrest of two male suspects and the seizure of one revolver and a quantity of ammunition.

And in the North Eastern Division, officers conducted an exercise between 5:30pm and 7:30pm yesterday in the Barataria district, which resulted in the discovery of one Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with a magazine containing six rounds of ammunition.
