Police Recover Stolen Packages In Belmont Following Robbery Report

Police officers recovered several stolen packages following a report of a robbery that occurred in the Belmont district yesterday.

At approximately 2pm, a party of officers from the Port of Spain Criminal Investigations Department (CID) – Area East, along with a team from the Joint Operations Patrol Task Force, responded to a report of a robbery along Serraneau Road in Belmont.

According to police reports, a delivery driver employed with a courier service company was delivering packages in the area when he was accosted by several men. The assailants relieved him of multiple packages before fleeing the scene via a flight of stairs on Savary Street.

In response, officers proceeded to the location and conducted a search of the area, including an abandoned concrete structure. During the search, they discovered several Amazon boxes containing various items. The stolen packages were successfully recovered.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
