Twenty Miss World T&T Contestants Revealed Ahead Of November Finale

Twenty young women will be vying for the title of Miss Trinidad and Tobago, and the opportunity to represent the nation at the 73rd edition of the Miss World pageant.

The grand reveal was held at the Sugar High Rooftop Lounge of the Brix Autograph Collection Hotel on Sunday.

Just over a month ago, the Miss World Trinidad and Tobago franchise team began the search for young women willing to be moulded into the next Miss World Trinidad and Tobago and, possibly, the next international Miss World.

From a pool of 70 applicants, an expert panel selected 20 outstanding candidates, who will now embark on the journey of a lifetime.

According to National Pageant Director and Franchise Holder Charu Lochan Dass, the national delegate is an inspiring woman, exuding poise, confidence, and intelligence.

“This is not merely just a pageant. This is a developmental programme for our young women across Trinidad and Tobago.”

With three months of strenuous training ahead of them, the 20 delegates will be coached by the nation’s top professionals in a number of areas including: public speaking, stage choreography, deportment, and personal development.

One such coach is Communications Professional and Publicist Adrian Raymond, who encouraged the young women to use the opportunity as a platform for growth.

“There are times that we’re going to be harsh, and it’s going to be difficult, and you’re going to hear things that they don’t want to hear. Dania mentioned sometimes they break down, because sometimes they have to break down in order to build back up because then you build back up stronger. You build back up a better version of yourself.”

The delegates were also given words of advice from Miss World International 1986, Giselle Laronde-West, and Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2024, Anna-Lise Nanton.

Mrs. Laronde-West advised them: “I want you to be able to expose yourself as much as you can to the journey. Expose yourself to the opportunities that you are about to receive with good faith and with an open heart and an open mind.”

And Ms. Nanton told them to enjoy the moment: “I just want you to stay true to yourself. Soak up every moment of this incredible experience as you embark on this very special journey and good luck to all of you.”

The 20 young women were promised the full support of the organisation and the nation.

Miss World Trinidad and Tobago will be revealed on November 16th.
