Seven Arrested During SOE Operation In Point Fortin

A joint State of Emergency (SOE) operation was carried out in the Point Fortin district between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on Thursday September 4th, 2025, resulting in the arrest of seven suspects.

The exercise was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Thompson and Superintendent Simon, and was coordinated by Assistant Superintendents Corrie, Forbes, and Lewis, as well as Inspector Prescott. Supervision was provided by Inspector Sirju, Sgts. Smith, and Breedy.

The team comprised officers from the Point Fortin Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Point Fortin Police Station, and the South-Western Division Task Force.

During the operation, officers conducted house searches under the authority of Sections 8 and 13 of Legal Notice 240 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2025 and several houses in the Cap- De- Ville area were searched.

Additionally, several known drug blocks in the area were searched. As a result, seven individuals were arrested, four in Techier Village and three in Chin Kit Park, Point Fortin for assembling for the purpose of gambling, an offence under the current SOE regulations.
