Ministry Launches Review Of Government Lease And Rental Agreements

The Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence (MPAAI) is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of lease and rental arrangements for privately owned properties. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to improving public service delivery, ensuring transparency and enhancing the efficiency of property management processes.

These efforts are being carried out with the interests of citizens and property owners at heart, as the Ministry continues to modernise systems and streamline operations for the benefit of all stakeholders.

As part of this review, the Ministry is pleased to announce the following key developments:

  1. Reengineering of the Rental Process

The rental process is being redesigned to improve efficiency and responsiveness. Stakeholders are being actively engaged to provide input on timelines, procedures and expected outcomes, ensuring that the new system reflects the needs of both landlords and the Public Sector.

  1. Upgrades to the Property Management Information System (PMIS)

Enhancements to the PMIS are currently underway. These upgrades will make it easier for landlords to access and upload property-related data, improving accuracy and reducing administrative delays.

  1. Rental Rate Analysis

A detailed analysis of rental rates is being conducted to support a geographically informed, fit-for-purpose approach. This will also enable the Ministry to fast-track standardised negotiations, ensuring fairness and consistency across all lease agreements.

The Ministry values the cooperation and patience of all landlords during this period of transition. These improvements are designed to create a more transparent, efficient and citizen-focused system for managing government-leased properties.
