On Monday, 15th September 2025, a high-visibility Joint Roving Road Block Operation was conducted within the Northern Division, North between the hours of 4pm and 8pm, resulting in several arrests and over 100 traffic citations.
The coordinated exercise, spearheaded by ACP Singh, Snr Supt Maynard Wilson, Supt McKenzie, ASP Pitt, ASP Ablacksingh, ASP Jones, Insp Estrada, and W/Sgt Ramai, involved a multi-agency team including:
• Officers of the Licensing Authority
• Traffic Warden Section
• Northern Division Task Force (South)
• K9 Unit
• Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)
• Traffic and Highway Patrol Unit
• Arima Traffic Section
• Arima Intelligence/Operations Unit
Outcomes of the Operation:
• 104 Fixed Penalty Notices (Traffic Tickets) issued
• 17 Street Checks conducted
• 6 Persons arrested for various offences
Arrested Individuals:
1. A 42-year-old man, of Pine Villas, Maraval
2. A 34-year-old man, of Noel Trace, St Augustine
3. A 49-year-old man, of Coco Crescent, The Crossings, Arima
4. A 42-year-old man, of Balisier Road, Arima – arrested in connection with gang-related and shooting offences
5. A 36-year-old man, Venezuelan National of Ramjohn Street, Curepe – charged with Driving Without a Permit and No Certificate of Insurance
6. A 24-year-old man, of George Lewis Street, Malabar – charged with Driving Without a Permit and No Certificate of Insurance
