Electrical Works To Impact Outpatient And Radiology Services At EWMSC This Friday To Sunday

The North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) wishes to advise the public that urgent and essential electrical upgrade works will be undertaken on one of the two major transformers on the electrical grid at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC), beginning at 6am on Friday, September 19th 2025, and ending at 6am on Monday, September 22nd 2025.

The NCRHA said this upgrade exercise is being undertaken with the aim of improving the reliability of its electrical system to better serve patients and their families.

During this period, the following scheduled services will be postponed:
– Outpatient clinics for Friday, September 19th 2025
– Elective surgeries for Friday, September 19th 2025
– Radiology appointments (CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, X-rays) for all three days

Patients with scheduled appointments on Friday, September 19th, 2025, will be contacted with new dates by Thursday, September 18th, 2025. If they have not been contacted by that date, they are advised to call (868) 645-2629.

Critical and emergency patients will be seen at our Emergency Departments, while persons requiring non-urgent care are asked to utilise the district healthcare facilities and health centres during this period.

The NCRHA said all critical care will continue uninterrupted, with contingency plans in place to safeguard patients and staff.
