Firearms Seized In Maraval And Diego Martin Districts

Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) conducted two separate exercises in the Western Division that led to the seizure of two illegal firearms yesterday.

On Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, between 4am and 8am, a roving roadblock exercise was conducted along Saddle Road, Maraval. Acting on intelligence received, officers proceeded to Morne Cyril Road, Paramin, where they searched a bushy area. During the search, they discovered a black plastic bag containing a long silver and black firearm, later identified as a “MODEL 88, 12-gauge, MAVERICK” shotgun. PC Hartman is continuing investigations into the matter.

The operation was spearheaded by Insp. Raymond, supervised by Ag/Sgt Roberts, and included officers from the Maraval Police Station.

Later that day, at approximately 1pm, acting on information received, officers proceeded to Manning Street, Diego Martin, where they conducted a search. There, they discovered a Smith and Wesson revolver concealed inside a styrofoam food container. WPC Salandy is continuing enquiries.
