School-Oriented Policing Unit Intervenes After Cannabis Found At School

A Form One student was reprimanded by the newly formed School-Oriented Policing Unit after he was found with a quantity of marijuana and wrapping paper at school on Wednesday.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), sometime after 11:30am, officers attached to the School-Oriented Policing Unit intercepted the student at the secondary school located in the Northern Division, North District.

Upon searching the student, a black package containing plant-like material resembling cannabis, along with wrapping paper, was discovered. The student was immediately cautioned and informed of the offence.

The school’s administration was notified, and officers from the Cumuto Police Station were summoned to the school.

Commissioner of Police, Allister Guevarro, commended the swift and professional actions of the officers involved.
