Commissioner Of Police Slams Leak of Confidential Leave Records as ‘Sabotage’

The Commissioner of Police has condemned the recent leak of confidential vacation leave records of senior officers in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

In a statement on Saturday, Commissioner Allister Guevarro described the leak as a malicious act intended to disrupt operations and undermine institutional integrity. He said the decision for the officer to proceed on accumulated leave was based on lawful entitlements and strategic planning and not personal targeting.

Commissioner Guevarro stressed that the unauthorized release of personnel data was not whistle-blowing but sabotage, warning that such breaches erode public trust and compromise deployment strategies.

He also criticized the social media blogger who published the document, dismissing it as “digital gossip” unworthy of legitimate journalism.

The Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and fairness, but maintained he will not tolerate what he called cowardly leaks and distorted narratives within the Service.
