AMCHAM TT Urges Tax Reform And Tech Investment In Pre-Budget Plan

The American Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago has submitted a 26-page blueprint to the Minister of Finance, Davendranath Tancoo, ahead of his first national budget presentation.

In the document, the Chamber offered what it termed ‘key recommendations’ for Trinidad and Tobago’s short- to medium-term economic growth.

These recommendations include widening the tax net by leveraging technology to identify non-compliant businesses, settling government debt to private companies, implementing a near-shoring strategy, and establishing digital nomad visas to attract valuable tech entrepreneurs and workers.

Titled A Blueprint for Growth, Resilience and Inclusion, the Chamber describes the document as one designed to stimulate economic growth, enhance business competitiveness, and foster long-term national resilience.
