Kidnapping survivor Jankie Karim met with Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro to personally thank the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) for their quick response, professionalism, and dedication that led to her safe rescue in July.
She also presented a token of appreciation to the Commissioner and expressed gratitude on behalf of her family.
Commissioner Guevarro said that while the TTPS was fulfilling its duty to protect and serve, he appreciated the gesture of thanks. He also encouraged citizens to work closely with the TTPS to help make Trinidad and Tobago safer.
Mrs. Karim was abducted on July 13th by armed assailants while seated in her family’s Toyota Hilux with her husband and son in Curepe. She was rescued by police on July 21st in Rampanalgas, along the Toco Main Road. During the rescue, an armed male suspect was shot in an exchange with police and later died at the hospital. Another suspect was killed during police inquiries in Piarco.
