Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC has confirmed some “good news” following her meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar met Secretary Rubio in Washington, DC, on Tuesday morning. She was accompanied by Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Sean Sobers; Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath; Minister of Legal Affairs Saddam Hosein; Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister Nicholas Morris; Permanent Secretary (MFCA) Randall Karim; and Foreign Service Officer Venessa Ramhit-Ramroop.
The Prime Minister shared an update following the meeting and promised to say more on her return to Trinidad and Tobago.
“We just had a meeting with Secretary of State, Mr. Rubio. We had some very important discussions for bilateral interests, and more will be discussed later. We have some good news that we will share with you later. We head back now to New York City, and we look forward to meeting you at home tomorrow.”
