The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) advises customers in parts of North, Central and South Trinidad, served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant and who are presently experiencing reduced water pressure, or in some cases no water, that this is due to a temporary cutback in production at the plant.
Production has been reduced from the daily average of 75 million gallons per day (mgd) to 65 mgd, to allow for emergency repairs to be carried out at the Raw Water Station of the facility. This represents a shortfall of 10 mgd into the distribution system.
The repair works are expected to be completed by 8pm today, Thursday October 2nd, 2025.
Customers are advised that following the return to normal operations it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to be fully restored in some affected areas.
A limited truck-borne water service is available with priority being given to health facilities, schools, and homes for the aged.
This service can be requested via the Authority’s website: www.wasa.gov.tt or alternatively by calling toll free at 800-4420/4426.
