Emergency repairs at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant have been completed.
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) says the works at the plant’s raw water station were wrapped up at around 10:30am today.
Production has since been restored to its full capacity of 75 million gallons per day.
However, WASA is advising that it may take up to 24 hours for the water supply to normalise in some affected areas.
In the meantime, a limited truck-borne service remains available, with priority given to health facilities, schools, and homes for the elderly.
