Trinidad and Tobago’s Paralympian, Akeem Stewart, received a hero’s welcome upon his return to Piarco International Airport on Monday.
Stewart, who secured silver with a season-best throw of 59.64 metres in the men’s discus F44 final, was greeted by officials from the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs to celebrate his outstanding achievements.
Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Mr. Phillip Watts offered his heartfelt congratulations, stating that Akeem has once again proven that resilience, dedication, and the heart of a champion are the true hallmarks of a titan.
Minister Watts also added that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting our athletes.
