CSO Reports Inflation Dip To 0.4%

Trinidad and Tobago’s inflation rate slowed to 0.4% based on the year-on-year movement of the All Items Index.

This announcement comes from the latest Consumer Price Index release from the Central Statistical Office (CSO) for the month of October.

This marks a decline from 1.0% in September and is slightly above the 0.2% recorded for the corresponding period one year earlier.

The CSO, in its report, noted that the fall was driven by lower prices for items such as Irish potatoes, pumpkin, pimento, onions, and tomatoes, among others. These declines were partially offset by higher prices for cucumber, chive, and frozen and fresh whole chickens.

All other sub-indices remained unchanged for the period.
