bpTT Completes Cypre Development: Set To Deliver 45,000 Barrels Per Day At Peak

bpTT has announced the completion of the Cypre seven well drilling programme which is linked to bpTT’s existing Juniper platform, following delivery of its first gas in April 2025.

Four wells were drilled and completed at the end of 2024, with the first gas delivered in April this year.

The project team has now drilled, completed, and commissioned the remaining three wells. At peak, Cypre is projected to deliver approximately 45,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Cypre is bpTT’s third subsea development.

bpTT President David Campbell says this is the latest achievement in a year of strong delivery, including the bp-operated Frangipani gas discovery and work with joint venture partner EOG.

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Dr. Roodal Moonilal has since expressed the government’s pleasure in seeing the wells being completed ahead of schedule.

He noted this project had its genesis in the people’s partnership administration.

“It dates back to the incentive framework provided by the People’s Partnership Administration in 2014 with the passage of the Finance Act that allowed for the accelerated capital allowances for exploration. That was passed in law in 2014, of course. We are extremely pleased with the development. The energy sector remains integral to our economy, and resources from the SIPP project play an important role in strengthening our natural gas supply. We look forward to continued investment in our energy sector by BP and other multinational companies.”
