The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force has dismissed what it calls, “unsubstantiated reports,” circulating on social media and other platforms concerning the readiness state of its units.
In a statement issued on Monday, the TTDF said it “unequivocally disassociates itself” from uncorroborated reports indicating that troops are on standby for military operations.
The Defence Force cautioned that such baseless and unofficial information may cause unrest that could be detrimental to public safety.
The TTDF urged citizens not to be misled by sensationalized information and emphasized that it continues to support Trinidad and Tobago Police Service efforts to maintain the safety and security of the nation.
