The NGO Bridges to the Heart is more than just a name. Through programmes such as Adopt a Grandparent, Adopt a Grandpal, the Love Bridges Series, and Shared Stories, the organisation actively builds meaningful connections between senior citizens and young people.
Recognising and reaffirming the value of these intergenerational bonds, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit, through her Ministry, presented a one-off grant of $7,500 to the non-profit organisation in support of its 2025 end-of-year programme for elderly persons and their caregivers.
The grant was received on behalf of the organisation by Director of Administration, Reyan Modeste-Leach. Also present were Permanent Secretary Ryan Ramcharan and Coordinator of the NGO Unit, Cindy Heeralal.
