Prime Minister Hands Over Instruments Of Appointment To NALIS Board Members

Today, the Honourable Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC, officially handed over instruments of appointment to the newly appointed Board Members of the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS).

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister offered words of encouragement, inspiration, and guidance to the Board, underscoring the importance of integrity, accountability, and service to the national interest. She reminded members of their responsibility to act prudently and transparently in the management of public resources, always safeguarding the interests of taxpayers.

The Prime Minister emphasised the critical role of NALIS in preserving the nation’s intellectual and cultural heritage while expanding access to information for all citizens. She encouraged the Board to further advance the Authority’s mandate through innovation, including the strategic use of modern technology to improve service delivery, outreach, and operational efficiency.

Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar noted that strong governance and forward-thinking leadership are essential to ensuring that NALIS remains a dynamic, relevant, and accessible institution in support of education, research, and national development.
