Two used-car dealers from Diego Martin have been charged following investigations by the Stolen Vehicles Squad into five stolen motor vehicles.
Fifty-two-year-old David John and twenty-seven-year-old Phillipe John, both of Patna Village, were charged after police seized three white Nissan Tiidas and two Hyundai Elantras during operations conducted between August and September 2025.
The vehicles were recovered in the North-Central, Southern, and Western Divisions.
Further enquiries led to the arrest of the two men on Sunday, December 14th, 2025.
David John was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Both men were jointly charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, while Phillipe John was additionally charged with two further counts of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and one count of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
The matter has been transferred to the Port of Spain Magistrate’s Court and adjourned to January 16th, 2026.
