Government Ministers say they’re tackling long-standing bureaucratic delays in the energy sector, with a new hub designed to fast-track approvals and licences.
Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Dr. Roodal Moonilal said the hub will act as a one-stop desk, coordinating across multiple agencies to resolve complaints in real time. From work permits to legal matters, the aim is to cut waiting times that have slowed projects for years.
“It is a unit at the Ministry of Energy comprising several entities, both within the Energy Ministry and outside of the Energy Ministry, and it required, of course, Cabinet authority. So that will coordinate the problems, the complaints, and in real time, try to sort out some of the problems that we face because in the energy sector, of course, you have a myriad of challenges.”
The Energy Accelerator Hub is expected to be up and running in the first quarter of 2026, with officials confident it will help unlock faster investment and reshape the country’s energy future.
