Southern Stars Steel Orchestra And Uptown Fascinators Win Panorama Small Conventional Bands 2026

Two steel orchestras emerged joint champions at the National Panorama 2026 Small Conventional Bands Finals, following an evening of closely contested performances at Skinner Park on Saturday night.

Southern Stars Steel Orchestra (D’ South Band) and Uptown Fascinators Steel Orchestra both secured first place after finishing with identical scores of 283 points in the National Panorama 2026 Small Conventional Bands Finals.

On Saturday judges described the results as reflective of the continued strength and high standard of the steel band movement.

Band arranger for the Uptown Fascinators Steel Orchestra, Ojay Richards said the joint win represents another step in both his and the band’s continued evolution.

Mr Richards said the arranger of the other winning band Duvone Dwayne Stewart was one of his inspirations along with Len Boogsie Sharpe.

Of the 16 bands competing in the finals, six ties were recorded across various placings.

Golden Hands placed third with “All Aboard,” scoring 278 points, while Tunapuna Tipica Steel Orchestra finished fourth with “The Party Hot Hot Hot,” earning 276 points.

Several additional ties were recorded throughout the lower rankings.
