The words of Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services Vandana Mohit as she shared that the government has confronted a longstanding backlog of senior citizens pension.
“Through direct collaboration with the National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago, Tobago, we reduced the SEP backlog from over 2 ,300 cases to 175. And this is not rhetoric. And this is at that time when we entered office. As we speak now, as we speak now, those numbers are down.”
Minister Mohit shared that during the period May 2025- December 2025, billions of dollars have been spent on senior citizens pension.
