NLCB Confirms Optional Sunday Gaming From February 8th 2026

The National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) has confirmed the ‘soft launch’ of “Sunday Gaming” from February 8th, 2026, but maintains that “agent participation is voluntary.”

The NLCB explained that Sunday gaming already forms part of the local entertainment landscape, with casinos in T&T open on Sundays.

It added that the initiative extends regulated gaming services into an additional day, while maintaining strong oversight, integrity and responsible gaming standards.

Unlike mandatory rollouts, it said the programme adopts a soft launch approach, allowing agents to participate at their “discretion”, adding that participation is entirely optional for both agents and customers.

However, the NLCB underscored its commitment to responsible gaming and player protection, noting that gaming will remain suspended on all religious public holidays in keeping with national observances and long-standing policy.

Beyond gaming, it noted that the rollout promises broader benefits, including the availability of essential bill payment services seven days a week and increased revenue via commissions for NLCB agents.

Michael Kerr, Chairman of TTT Limited, which will broadcast the Sunday draws, said the state enterprise is fully on board.

“The additional draws create opportunities for revenue, which are most welcome for TTT Limited. And TTT is excited about continuing to partner on this mutually rewarding project. As you know, we have modern production facilities, outstanding engineering capacity, skilled employees, and unmatched broadcast reach. So we welcome this 100%.”

The National Lotteries Control Board said it also remains committed to:

1.Responsible gaming standards
2.Compliance and monitoring
3.Ongoing engagement with agents and other stakeholders

With similar seven-day gaming systems already in place for over a decade in Jamaica, the US, and Europe, the NLCB said this move brings Trinidad and Tobago in line with international standards.

The NLCB also pointed to Jamaica having implemented similar measures over a decade ago, with lotteries in the US and Europe also operating seven days a week.
