CSO Reports Marginal Drop In Year-on-Year Inflation

There has been a slight easing of inflation in Trinidad and Tobago for December 2025, according to the Consumer Price Index issued by the Central Statistical Office.

The latest release from the CSO shows the inflation rate for December 2025, which measures the percentage change in the All Items Index over the corresponding period in 2024, stood at 0.4%.

This marked a decrease from the 0.5% recorded for November 2025 compared with November 2024.

The All Items Index for December 2025 indicated overall price stability on a month-to-month basis.

Within the index, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased marginally.

The CSO reported that this increase was driven by higher prices for items such as fresh whole chicken, parboiled rice, and other fresh goods.

These increases were partially offset by price decreases for other food items such as cucumber, table margarine, frozen whole chicken, and soya-bean oil.
