The Windward Islands women defeated the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force Divas by 91 runs in their opening encounter of the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup, being played in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Red Force Divas won the toss and sent the Windwards in to bat first, as they posted 225 for 7 from 50 overs.
Jannillea Glasgow top-scored with 73 off 88 deliveries, while a fluent 61 from 63 by Afy Fletcher helped take them to the respectable total.
Bowling for T&T, Nadia Mohammed took 2 for 42.
In reply, Trinidad and Tobago were bowled out for 134 in 33.2 overs, with Lee-Ann Kirby’s 31 and Karishma Ramharack’s 29 being the top scores.
Afy Fletcher starred with 4 for 23, backed by Jannillea Glasgow’s 2 for 14, as the Windwards made a strong start to their campaign.
