InterCaribbean Airways to Launch Non-Stop Trinidad-Barbados Flights in March

InterCaribbean Airways will begin operating a new non-stop air service between Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago from March 9, 2026, marking a significant boost to regional air connectivity according to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.

The new route will operate four times weekly between Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados and Piarco International Airport in Trinidad. Officials say the service is expected to strengthen travel options for both business and leisure passengers while reinforcing regional integration within the Caribbean.

According to the Ministry, the launch represents an important step in expanding airlift and improving direct links between Trinidad and Tobago and one of the region’s major aviation hubs.

Preparations for the new service were discussed during a coordination meeting held on January 28 at the Ministry’s head office. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Senator the Honourable Eli Zakour, and attended by InterCaribbean Airways Chief Executive Officer Trevor Sadler, Director-General of the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority Cary Price, and representatives from the Ministry, the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, and InterCaribbean Airways.

Minister Zakour described the commencement of InterCaribbean’s operations in Trinidad and Tobago as an important milestone for regional connectivity. He noted that the new route would support tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, while providing additional travel options for citizens and visitors across the Caribbean.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with InterCaribbean Airways and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful introduction of the service and to continue advancing Trinidad and Tobago’s connectivity with the wider Caribbean region.
