President of the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO), Ainsley King, is reporting a smooth start to the organisation’s events this year.
He made the statement while speaking exclusively to TTT News at the John Cupid Carnival Village.
“We have started a long time ago, we kicked off because we were ready, preparation, regardless of everything that was happening, the rumours of war and all them things that was taking place. We knew we had a responsibility to get ready for Carnival season, and we did just that. So we have a smooth flow where the kick-off is concerned. But we have started, the judges are going through, selecting calypsonians for the semi-finals which we are looking forward to on the 7th.”
Mr. King says there have been many good songs this season, and he is expecting fans to enjoy the music from the Greatest Show on Earth.
“I must say the season is actually producing a lot of great songs. So this is a year that we could consider that is going to be a year of very high quality calypsos.”
