At India’s largest energy gathering, Trinidad and Tobago wasted no time making its ambitions clear, in securing upstream investment, as well as reviving the Pointe‑a‑Pierre refinery.
These items topped the agenda as Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Dr. Roodal Moonilal, launched a series of high‑level bilateral meetings on January 29th at India Energy Week 2026, which took place in Goa, India.
Dr. Moonilal, accompanied by senior officials, including Heritage Petroleum Chairman Kurt Ramlal and Guaracara Refining Company Ltd’s Chairman Gowtam Maharaj, met with global heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, ExxonMobil, Shell, TotalEnergies and KBC Engineering.
Also present was Senior Chemical Engineer from the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Terrance Ali.
In each session, the delegation pitched Trinidad and Tobago’s investment ready energy landscape and highlighted its deep pool of experienced technical talent.
The international companies provided updates on their current operations and signaled interest in exploring new areas of collaboration with Trinidad and Tobago, opportunities the Minister has committed to actively pursuing.
