National Leaders Join Students To Mark World Read Aloud Day

In commemoration of World Read Aloud Day, reading came to life across Trinidad and Tobago, as national leaders joined students in celebrating the power of storytelling.

At the President’s House, President Christine Carla Kangaloo hosted Storytime, while Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath accepted an invitation to read to students of the California Government Primary School.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Claudelle McKellar, also read aloud to students of Nelson Street Boys’ and Girls’ Roman Catholic Schools.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education Dr. Michael Dowlath visited the Embacadere ECCE Centre, sharing a Carnival-themed story created by teachers.

Meanwhile, Minister of Health Dr. Lackram Bodoe also joined the observance, reading to students at La Romaine Government Primary School.

The Ministry of Education emphasised that reading aloud helps build literacy, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.
