Revitalisation Blueprint Draws Nearly 1,000 Expressions Of Interest

The government says confidence in Trinidad and Tobago’s economy is strong, following an overwhelming response to the Revitalisation Blueprint as close to one thousand expressions of interest have been submitted for major development projects across the country.

Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jearlean John revealed the figures during a press conference on Sunday.

The government’s plan to reshape Trinidad and Tobago’s economic future has attracted a blowout response from investors, both locally and internationally.

This according to Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jearlean John who revealed that 965 expressions of interest were submitted for projects under the Revitalisation Blueprint Project, which closed on February 5th.

“So Trinidad and Tobago, you understand, we positioned ourselves well. And the submission pages reviewed thus far is 190 ,000. In UDECOTT they’re still counting, all right? The mandate is for them to work around the clock in shifts because of how robust the response was. And this map, shows the international, where the countries from which some of the international responses were derived.”

The blueprint, launched in November 2025, outlines 129 projects across 13 development nodes. Among the most competitive categories was the luxury waterfront real estate, receiving 57 submissions.

“You’re talking about, well, Invaders Bay, Foreshore, 300 premium waterfront apartments, 400 boats, marine, four five -star hotels offering 1 ,000 rooms, 3 ,000 rooms in five years, 3 ,000 in 10 years, all right? Now I said, we still have, not we, Utica, they are still going through, they have just downloaded the submissions, they now will go through the submissions, all right? But just from an initial impression, this is a major response.”

The Industrial park and free trade zone received 39 submissions.

Minister John said once this project is brought to fruition, the economy and the lives of the residents of Sealots will be transformed.

“So the same way, trying to be able to help is betting on sea lots, right? So when we are about to do the consultation inside the Sea lots, I’ll go myself.
Yeah, no absentee landlord, I’ll go myself to do the consultation, to talk to the people at sea lots and say, let us bring light manufacturing inside of here, free trade zone. You have a proximity to the the harbor to the port, you know, so the cost of transportation is down, so you have a competitive advantage. Goods doesn’t have to travel over long distances.”

Minister John said through the Revitalization Blueprint, the government projects 72,000 jobs will be created between 2027-2028.

“So the employment benefits, as we said, are about 72 ,000 jobs. Average employment overall, 50 ,919 jobs. Direct jobs, 20 ,000. So this is what we will retain most likely, but at a peak, and we are looking at a peak, 2027 to 2028, 72 ,000 jobs.”

Minister John was speaking at a UNC Media Briefing on Sunday.
