The Tobago House of Assembly has given its full support to Pan Trinbago’s hosting the Medium Band Finals in Trinidad.
The event, which was scheduled to take place in Tobago on Sunday, will take place at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Monday evening, owing to sea bridge challenges.
During a press briefing on Friday, THA Secretary of Tourism Zorisha Hackett said that the infrastructure at Parade Grounds in Bacolet, the planned venue for the Medium Band Finals, will now be utilised for another event.
“We would have already paid for infrastructure and so on we are going to shift the Junior Carnival Extravaganza to Parade Grounds and there is also another suggestion on the table as to what we do on the actual Monday night when the Medium Band Finals is occurring, in Trinidad if we can utilise the space and have persons come and large screen up and engage Tobagonians.”
The Executive Council is discussing the suggestion and, once finalised, an announcement will be made. Secretary Hackett said the THA remains a sponsor of the Medium Band Finals event.
“The Tobago House of Assembly is still very much a sponsor and so Chief Secretary, myself and Assistant Secretary will be there giving our fullest support to Pan Trinbago.”
