The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce is calling for greater collaboration with the government on matters affecting the private sector.
President of the Chamber, Sonji Pierre-Chase, noted that while some engagement already exists, the Chamber is seeking stronger and more consistent involvement in issues that impact businesses and the wider national community.
“We are not saying that there hasn’t been collaboration. Our issue is that the extent of the collaboration — the involvement of the private sector in issues that affect the national community or have a negative impact on business — the collaboration has not been as effective or as structured as we would like it to be so the outcome we are hoping to achieve is more engagement and more collaboration.”
