Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence, Senator Dominic Smith, will represent the Government and people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the AI Impact Summit 2026, hosted by the Government of India from February 18th to 20th, 2026.
The AI Impact Summit convenes Ministers, policymakers, technology leaders, academics, and international organisations to examine the governance, ethical deployment and socio-economic impact of artificial intelligence across the public and private sectors. Key areas of focus include responsible AI, public-sector transformation, digital inclusion and the role of emerging technologies in national development.

As the first Caribbean nation to establish a Ministry with responsibility for Artificial Intelligence, Trinidad and Tobago continues to advance policies and programmes that leverage AI to strengthen governance, modernise public administration and improve service delivery.
“Artificial intelligence must serve people, strengthen public trust, and expand the capacity of governments to deliver for their citizens,” Minister Smith said, “Our participation in the AI Impact Summit reflects Trinidad and Tobago’s determination to engage globally, learn from international best practice and contribute meaningfully to the evolving conversation on responsible and ethical AI governance.”
During the Summit, Minister Smith is expected to participate in high-level discussions, bilateral engagements, and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at deepening international cooperation and advancing practical approaches to AI governance and implementation.
The Government of Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to the ethical, inclusive and strategic adoption of artificial intelligence as a key pillar of national development and public-sector transformation.
