Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has returned to Trinidad and Tobago following her participation in the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting held in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The regional summit brought together leaders from across the Caribbean Community to address pressing issues affecting the region, including economic resilience, climate change adaptation, food security, energy cooperation and regional security.
During the high-level discussions, Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar engaged with fellow Heads of Government on strategies aimed at strengthening collaboration and advancing sustainable development initiatives within CARICOM.
Her attendance at the meeting underscores Trinidad and Tobago’s continued commitment to regional integration and collective action, particularly at a time when Caribbean states are navigating global economic pressures and climate-related challenges.
The Prime Minister is expected to brief Cabinet and other key stakeholders on the outcomes of the meeting and the implications for national policy in the coming days.
