The Land for the Landless Programme is officially open.
This is an initiative that provides subsidised, fully developed residential lots to eligible citizens who do not own land or property in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Land Settlement Agency has begun accepting applications, giving eligible citizens the chance to take a significant step towards owning their own land.
Chairman of the Land Settlement Agency, Michelle Mathura-Allahar, stated that applicants must meet several criteria before they can apply for the programme.
“You must be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, you must be over 18 years old, you must have a job so you will have to provide source of income, you must not be the beneficiary of any State subsidy, previous State subsidy, and, of course, you must be landless. You have no property in your name.”
Ms. Mathura-Allahar stated that citizens applying for the programme must submit key documents, including their birth certificate, proof of employment, proof of citizenship and national identification.
“We have applications that are all online, and you can go onto our website, which is www.lsatt.com, and the application forms are all online, so once you go on the website, you will be led to the application form.”
