It was a delightful result for the Trinidad and Tobago Under 20 Men’s Football Team, following a disappointing draw against Bermuda in their opening Concacaf Under 20 Men’s World Cup Qualifier.
On Thursday, T&T defeated Barbados by a 5-1 scoreline in their second Group E match in Costa Rica.
Josiah Ochoa opened the scoring for T&T in the fifth minute before Jaydon Caprietta doubled the lead soon after. Dominic Joseph then got his name on the scoresheet for the second game running, sending T&T into the break 3-0 ahead.
Goals from Josiah Kallicharan and captain Derrel Garcia, along with a late Barbados goal, rounded off the 5-1 result.
T&T now have four points and will next face St. Maarten on Monday.
