One person has lost their life following a road traffic accident on the Beetham Highway on Thursday morning.
Information coming to the newsroom indicates that the victim was struck by a vehicle driving along the eastbound lane of the Beetham Highway, in the vicinity of the Sea Lots Flyover around 8am.
The accident caused a major traffic pile-up as police and emergency personnel assessed and secured the scene.
There is no update on the identity of the victim.
