A man has been sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour after being charged in connection with a robbery at Shepherd’s Inn in Crown Point, Tobago.
Ericson Mitchell appeared before the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 3rd, when Marcel Sciffle of Germany, who was vacationing at the Shepherd’s Inn Hotel, retired to bed, leaving his apartment door unlocked.
On Wednesday, March 8th, he discovered several items missing, including an iPhone 17 valued at $10,000, a mobile hard drive valued at $1,000, a black pouch valued at $500, a blue pouch valued at $500, a power bank valued at $500, an Apple iPod valued at $1,000, and a backpack valued at $1,000.
A report was subsequently made at the Crown Point Police Station, which led to the arrest of Mitchell.
