Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander said 19 students were arrested and charged in connection with incidents of school violence for the period September 2025 to December 2025.
Minister Alexander said the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service will continue to work with the Ministry of Education to ensure schools remain a safe and secure environment.
“The presence of police officers within schools is intended primarily as a preventative and protection measure aimed at deterring acts of violence and ensuring that any incident which threatens the safety of students, of teachers, and staff is addressed promptly and in accordance with the law.”
