Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC is urging citizens to reflect on faith, courage, and unity as Christians mark Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week.
In her message, the Prime Minister noted that Palm Sunday commemorates the entry of into Jerusalem, symbolising humility, peace, and sacrifice.
She reminded that while Jesus Christ was welcomed with praise, that support quickly turned, underscoring the need for conviction and standing firm in what is right.
The Prime Minister says these lessons remain relevant in Trinidad and Tobago, describing the nation as one grounded in faith and strengthened by diversity and mutual respect.
She also acknowledged the Christian community’s longstanding contributions through service, education, and moral leadership.
As Holy Week begins, citizens are being encouraged to reflect, renew their values, and demonstrate compassion and integrity in their daily lives.
The Prime Minister is extending best wishes for a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Holy Week, while calling for continued unity and purpose across the country.
