Jamaica Kingsmen Confirmed As CPL’s Newest Franchise

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League has a new franchise, and it’s going by a royal name.

The Jamaica Kingsmen have officially been confirmed as the CPL’s newest team.

The new CPL franchise, owned by a USA-based group that also runs the Pakistan Super League team of the same name, will be based in Kingston, with Sabina Park as their home ground.

CPL Chief Executive Pete Russell says Jamaica has always been a powerhouse in Caribbean cricket, and the new side represents a bold step forward in building on that legacy.

Owner Fawad Sarwar says the team will reflect Jamaica’s rich cricketing heritage and passionate fanbase, promising to compete at the highest level in “true Tallawah spirit.”

The Kingsmen’s arrival signals a new era for cricket in Jamaica, which was once home to the Jamaica Tallawahs franchise, who later evolved into the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
