The airwaves are getting a fresh injection of energy as Next 99.1 FM rolls out its latest on-air talent, promising new voices, authentic conversations, and a deeper connection with listeners.
The ink is officially dry as DJ Charlotte and The Hypeman Patrick put pen to paper, marking their formal arrival to the team.
No stranger to the Next 99.1 FM family, DJ Charlotte returns to familiar airwaves, but this time she’s stepping into her own show, which she says marks a major milestone in her career, one that she’s embracing with excitement and a clear vision for authenticity.
“This show is going to give me a voice to be able to speak. I have my own show, this is a new thing for me, a new experience, and I welcome it.”
She adds that her aim is to create a relaxed and genuine space where listeners feel comfortable expressing themselves.
“A comfortable space, a space where we can share thoughts and just be ourselves. I want it to be a very authentic show, I don’t want it to be too rehearsed. I want you to be able to listen and be heard and understood and have fun and share views all in one fun-filled show.”
Also joining the line-up is Hypeman Patrick.
“After doing radio for about six, seven years, took a hiatus for maybe three or four, so being back on radio at this particular time in my career is very exciting, because I think I’m able to introduce people to that new stage of my life. I’ve been travelling all over the world for the last six or seven years and now having a balance between being a dad, being a dog dad and I think just authentic experiences to share with people.”
He says he is bringing his high-energy performance style from the stage to the studio.
“My sobriquet is the hype man. So it’s trying to find the balance between bringing the hype man that performs on stages across the world for Carnival and bringing that raw energy to the station. I think that is what I will be bringing that is unique to my brand.”
With a mix of authenticity and high energy, Next 99.1 FM’s new voices are set to redefine the listening experience for audiences across Trinidad and Tobago.
