The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has issued a statement condemning acts of animal cruelty and urging the public to remain vigilant.
In a release, the Ministry reminded citizens that cruelty to animals is a criminal offence under national law, including the Summary Offences Act and the Animals (Diseases and Importation) Act.
Officials described such acts as both “heinous and inhumane” and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting animal welfare across Trinidad and Tobago.
Members of the public are being encouraged to report any incidents or information related to animal abuse immediately. Reports can be made through the Ministry’s toll-free hotlines or by contacting the police.
